NEVER COMPROMISE THE ARTS THAT MAKE THE CROWD CLAP.

well, tonight me and jerome were supposed to go gotham penthouse to party....

we didnt. instead, jerome regurgitated all the vodka he downed at my place and i ended up taking care of the drunk bugger. he was in such bad shape he had to count on me to walk for both of us everywhere we went.

thus, we missed the party. the great party, where drinks were one for one, entry was free and jaesh promised to buy me alchohol.

but i wouldnt have had it any other way. : )

"wait what? han, are you insane?" you must be asking. well... lemme explain.

see, jerome is one my best friends. hes a great buddy, who takes care of the people around him... including your humble(alright, egotistical) narrator. hes also independant, ensuring that he keeps his problems to himself and solves them without any outside help.

thus, i guess i always felt i kinda owed him something. especially considering how he supported me the way he did this past month. his kindness and affection i can NEVER repay in kind. as a result, a part of me searches for ways to show this hulky choir president that i appreciate him being there as a close chum.

yeah i hope you begin see how tonight was a great experience for me.?

despite missing out on a bitchin' party, i dont hold it against my pal jerome. on the contrary, i was more than willing to give him a shoulder to lean on(metaphorically AND literally).

i bought him food and told him how best to get over his current debilitating condition(more on that on my next post. stay tuned, ill reveal some wonderful secret hangover cures!). and i felt good doing it. i knew that i was returning what jerome supplied me for the past month, although to a much more diminished extent.

yesh. this brings to me to the main focus of this post. that is, my account on friendship.

on saturday at kiat's cell, the issue of friendship came up. in the buddy group, someone mentioned how it was getting harder and harder to find real friends with valuable qualities. it was apparent to everyone in the group that as you get older, you are sure to run into people who pose as charming peers, but in fact merely keep your companionship to achieve their own ends.

following this, a girl said well, thats why best friends are usually the people that you know since really young, that youve grown up with and understand thoroughly. i vehemently, but politely, disagreed with this.

of course, i said, many best friends have known each other since infancy. they grow up with each other and forge bonds near unbreakable. but for me.... this was simply not how i viewed how a friendship's magnitude is measured.

i explained how, its not the amount of time you know a person that defines how great a buddy he/she is to you. no, its the during times of duress that the depth of a friendship is revealed.

i brought kiat into the picture to illustrate my point. we have now known each other for what, 6 months? and now we are the absolute best of buddies. why though?

easy. because a true friend is someone who STAYS at your side through any obstacle you must overcome. he endures it WITH you, shares your pain and continually spurs you on. he ignores your whines and whimpers, telling you what you need to know and not what you want to hear. THATS a friend. THATS friendship.

therefore, these friendships are tested when either one of the companions undergoes huge trauma. it is only when you are in dire need of a friend that their love is truly explored. basically, to simplify it to a layman's level(which you, if you have been reading this blog for some time, know that i dont do often simply because i presume you are intelligent and witty. keep up dearies.), a friend in need is a friend indeed.

in conclusion, i sent jerome home and am meeting him tomorrow morning to get stuff done. i pray he turns out ok by then. sleep tight my lovelies. remember, keep friends close to your heart, and memories of their aid even closer.

Snow Patrol's Ask Me How I Am

Has nobody asked you how you are?
You look like you might not last the day
I wouldn't have made it very far
So we'd make a good team right away
I've not made amends for yesterday
My lip won't get me out of it
Waking up dreading hearing tales
Of all my nightmares being true

I take a breath and grab the phone
Secretly hoping you're not home
I'd leave a message - I was out
Out of my mind on drink and drugs
