the dread post

i hunt your child

darkness falls the night grows long
their mother has just sang her song
and now, to bed, they must along
praying to Father

this, the time they fear the most
is haunted not by any ghost,
nor wraith, nor ghoul, nor demon host.
small hearts beat faster.

one by one they creep to bed
thoughts of decay run through their heads
they know that i have not yet fed,
and i hunger.

sleep comes for the kids at last
so has the time to break my fast
trails of slime i leave in my path
slow, i draw closer.

in their room, my face beaming
i kill quickly, so theres no screaming.
theres no need to be unseeming
ill eat him softer.

tomorrow, when they awake
to any empty bed, torn and raked
in their socks theyll shiver and quake
all praying harder.

sweetlings, hope you enjoyed my little poem. a tad different from what youve seen before but it made me feel good to write it. remember this: sometimes, the safest place to be is behind the mask of a terrible thing, so scary it keeps away everything else. till next nightfall.... sleep tight.

Within Temptation's The Howling

We’ve been searching all night long but there’s no trace to be found
It’s like they all have just vanished but I know they’re around
I feel they’re getting closer
Their howls are sending chills down my spine
And time is running out now
They’re coming down the hills from behind
When we start killing
It’s all coming down right now
From the nightmare we’ve created
I want to be awakened somehow
