evening me lovelies. with the a level results and an evening(tonight being the evening in question. YESTERnight wasnt that wild, just drinking with char kiat reuben and jerome) which has left a bittersweet taste in my mouth coming to pass since my last post, ive got some very vivid musings to get out in the open. come come gather around and i shall weave a post of most tantalising delicacy that by the end, those of you not slack-jawed in complete wonderment will be cowed into respectful timidity the next time you see me.
lets start off with the a levels shall we. well, i did slightly above average. b for lit, b for econs, c for maths(which was actually quite a let down considering i found it the easiest out of all the papers), b for gp and a for history(mr ngoei deserves all 12 stars, and then some.). i must say i really hope i can get into smu business with these grades. itd be absolutely lovely to attain what ive strove for these past few years. yet at the same time, jerome's offer of going overseas to study with him IS extremely tempting. but thats not really my priority, to be completely frank.
moving on! so a lot of friends of mine are upset with their grades. im not one to shy away from being brutally honest, so heres the rub: life fucking moves on. lifting directly from one of my dear friend tze shun's smses, this simple statement sums up every consoling pat on the shoulder you can get, every good piece of advice from a friend and every redundant nod of the head and "ok lah not so bad" you receive right after letting someone see your grade slip.
life fucking moves on. see, life is really, to be blunt, a two cent whore bitch. it slaps you for no good reason, it takes your emotions and plays havoc with them and youll never ever truly GET it. what can you do then? easy. grab life by its cheap leather jacket, yell "WHERES MY MONEY BITCH" and give it the occasional backhand. in other words, do what needs to be done.
sim? retake a levels? sats? pray hard and hope for the best? all viable options. no real wrong with choosing any of these for to be the next step in life. but the most vital thing to keep in mind is that you never ever shy away from making a decision and sticking with it. thats just not good form now is it. made up your mind? congrats! now lets see what you can do when you really put some back into it. heck, ill be here to cheer you on and up should you ever need it! so chest out and chin up. while the pathetic sob stories belong exclusively in lousy paperback romance novels, the best success stories are those that start out with the protagonist working his/her way to the top despite starting out down in the dumps.
now that THATS done with.
right. the evening. hmmm. where to begin. alright, after the horrendous movie(10,000 bc) me xing wei and jerome went over to starbucks to chill out. after chatting for a while, wei ting showed up! it was about this time that things took a turn for the... enlightening for jerome. but hey my blog isnt a place for his revelations. some things you just dont need to talk about to remember for a long time.
in closing me lovelies, its been a super long day and i am ultra bushed. between meeting a new friend(who has the really cool name of arden), shopping for yannis present and GETTING MY SEXY NEW ZARA SHOES, i have had to intervene in a little family issue when i got home. ill talk more about it tomorrow, right now i need to hit the sack asap. till next time me lovelies : D
Foo Fighters' My Hero
Don't the best of them bleed it out,
While the rest of them peter out?
Truth or consequence, say it aloud.
Use that evidence, race it around.
There goes my hero,
Watch him as he goes.
There goes my hero,
He's ordinary!
