hel oooooooooooooooooo!
well, yesterday was pretty mundane. me and jaesh had plans to go drinking, but he couldnt make it because he had on him too little cash. add that to how he was tired from teaching and not getting much sleep recently, it was a mutual decision to postpone our night at chips.
instead, jaesh proposed we dota. and dota we did.
come, let me share with you our little misadventure.
right, im not gonna lie to you. for those who are dota ignorant, this post will be pretty damn confounding. im guessing people like wei, tze shun, yanni, charissa, kiat etc etc. will be stumped if they try to read on, but bear with me. i mean, cmon! i seldom post about dota cause i know you all cant stand or comprehend it.
wellllll, ok. yanni not so much. she wants to learn how to pawn, actually. after i have left uob, if your still interested miss chen, i will GROOM YOU TO BECOME THE ULTIMATE DOTA CHAMPION!!!!
... or just write you off as a noob beyond even my help. see how lah.
played a public game. ap mode.
our team was scourge
we had tiny(me), viper(noobala), warlock, luna and necrolyte
opposing team sentinel
they had lich, rhasta, faceless void, rylai and dragon knight
i was bottom lane with jaesh against void
middle lane was necrolyte and warlock against crystal maiden and knight
top lane was luna against lich and rhasta
early game was pretty good! me and jaesh were controlling the void really well, making sure he didnt get creep kills and denying exp here and there. middle lane was faring well too, because lock and necro just kept healing each other whenever they were in trouble. top lane was the best though: luna was owning the lich and rhasta. she hit level 6 and eclipsed the hell outta both of em, got double kills once or twice.
mmm then things took a turn for the worst somewhere in the middle. at around 20 or 30 min elapsed time, luna got killed twice in a row, so she called for help and i went top lane to give it. middle was becoming more troublesome as knight's hp and armor began building up. and jaesh died to the void when he thought he could take him on.
ok thing about void is its one of the most powerful heroes midd to late, late game. alongside troll warlord and mortred it is THE deciding factor in a lot of ap games. only way to counter this threat is to NOT ALLOW IT TO FARM. this is a two pronged approach.
firstly, by denying creeps, you rob it of its gold and exp. without gold, it cant get its proper attack speed items, thus its bash comes out less often. without exp, by the time it gets its lvl 2 or even(heaven forbid) lvl 3 chronosphere your team should be tough enough to outlast him and down him ultra fast.
but most important is the second step of preventing a late game hero like him from farming, which is the poke. by continually poking the hero, you slowly chip away at his health. when done right, the enemy hero is put in grave danger: with less health, he cant farm properly without you or your teammates making a sudden move to kill him off. as mentioned before, this is deadly for a late game hero, as he/she is basically neautralised for the duration of the game.
in addition to this, if he has meager hp left due to effective poking and an aggressive stance on lane control, he is made a viable target for ambushes and gangs. with proper ganking tactics resulting in the enemy hero's death or deaths, the opposition becomes even more feeble with their carry hero losing valuable gold and temporarily halting the gain of exp.
back to the game. so instead of playing it safe and ensuring that the void was prevented from farming well(which would have not only taken the void outta the picture, but also make him and luna the only major late game powers), jaesh took a gamble which didnt pay off. this caused his death: granting the void a hero kill, a ton of gold and a truck load of exp. the scourge was swimming in dannnggeerrrous waters.
worried, i tried handling the top as best as i could, at the same time attempted to coordinate the team to make a push into the enemy base. i knew from past games that if the game was allowed dragged on, the void would begin owning and eventually be able to take on the whole scourge team without breaking a sweat.
THUS WE MADE A THRUST DEEP INTO SENTINEL TERRITORY!!!!
all was going well, until BOOM! the sentinel let loose their barrage of nukes and exploded outta the base!
the lich chain frosted and ice novaed everything in sight, dealing huge amounts of damage and slowing our team to a crawl. the rylai threw cold novas of her own, at the same time using frostbite to disable whoever was closest to her. the rhasta dropped his dangerous snake wards, shackling hexing and nuking the fogelberg outta us. the dragon knight morphed to dragon form and flew right into our midst, pulling all the aggro. and lastly, the fucking void came outta nowhere with a mask of madness, threads, two wraith bands and a quarterstaff. without even releasing his chronosphere, he depleted my health in a matter of SECONDS.
we were in disarray, our carefully laid plans exploding in our faces. weakened severely and faced with the very real threat of having ALL FIVE scourge heroes being decimated, i thought to myself: well, lets just hope they dont counter push us. well get raped.
and then... a miracle.
the void began to lag.
see, when a player begins to lag, or fall behind the pace of the game, the whole game PAUSES. this lull is to allow his computer to catch up with the other gaming parties. he has forty five seconds to do so. however, if he is incapable of matching the speed of the others by the time the forty five seconds are up, a vote will be cast by the other players.
for the other gamers, a window pops up with the lagger's name and details on it, with a little countdown timer starting from 45 seconds. at the end of the 45 seconds, a button appears which says "disconnect". if clicked, you vote to remove, or kick, the lagger from the game. usually three or four votes are sufficient to drop the player.
HAHAHAHAHAHA OH MAN. when the disconnent screen popped up i went oh dot. oh DOT. lag out you little prick LAG OUT!!!! HAHAHAHAHA AND THE FOOL DID!!!
our whole team friggin went into OVERDRIVE. we had 45 seconds to plan everything out, 45 seconds to prepare our OWN spells and attacks to obliterate the sentinel. so the instance the void was kicked and the game resumed, we let fly ALL our stuff. in less than 5 seconds, we had completely wiped the sentinel team.
RAX THE MIDDLE!!!! ok now everyone out!!!
swim top swim top!!! wooooohooooooo!
so yeah we pretty much won it already, what with middle and top being raxed. our creeps, many times more powerful than theirs now, were able to keep them from pushing outta their base. they were doomed to a slow and painful death. all that was left was to rax bottom and victory would be ours!
then jaesh lagged out.
hahahahahahahaha NOOBALA.
i wasnt worried, we still had everything under control.
then the necrolyte lagged out.
"ah shit," i thought to myself "now we were in it deep. never mind, push the bottom!!!!"
so we pushed...................................................
and once again cleared the whole sentinel team.
RAX THE BOTTOM!!!
MEGA CREEPS!!! WIN!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
yeah.
that was a good game. : )
i had a celebratory cigarette after that. felt uber good.
so right now im still in my little cubicle bored outta my skull, wishing that i could figure out a way to install dota on this weak ass com. but never mind, afterwards i go home still can play!!! come onnnnnn FIVE O CLOCK! hahahha till next time blog fans, GLHF!!!!
The Fray's Cable Car
Let's rearrange.
I wish you were a stranger,
I could disengage.
Just say that we agree,
And then never change.
Soften a bit,
Until we all just get along.
But that's disregard.
You find another friend,
And you discard,
As you lose the argument,
In a cable car,
Hanging above,
As the canyon comes between.
And everyone knows
I'm in,
Over my head.
Over my head.
With eight seconds left in overtime,
She's on your mind.
She's on your mind.
