dont you go looking too deep into my eyes... youll hate what youll find

wow.

its been really really long since i last blogged. but then again its been quite a while since ive had anything really important to say. life gets kinda mundane/routine around here so i cant really expose myself to new, radical ideas to dissect and catalogue anymore. i mean sure its fun, messing around with friends. be it drinking with jaesh, jerome or laughing and gobbing it up with platoon mates. it starts to grow... repetitive. so i guess a gust of fresh air every now and then does me good. jogs the cranium it does, helps me churn out stuff i ordinarily wouldnt think about.
recently, one such reinvigorating breeze came along in the form of geraldine. just back from the states with stories to swap and her own brand of aussie induced charm, i met her yesterevening for a relaxing spa session and a quick round of drinks. along with the endless laughs and upfront, sometimes even blatant, acknowledging of everything thats wrong and right with the world we stumbled upon many an interesting topic to seriously consider and cross examine.

heres a quick excerpt.

me and geraldine spoke about how you know when you like someone. i told her that theres this big tangled mess that is a friendship moving into something more serious. and her answer involves the first two stages of such a change: infatuation and liking. its easier to give a correct answer if the two are differentiated and laid bare.

when your infatuated with someone, your mind is almost perpetually inflamed by numerous questions concerning her/him. whats she doing now? whos she doing it with? when was the last time she sent me a message? whats taking her so long to reply? should i call her or wait for her to call me? im so afraid to call her what if she says shes busy itll be so off. will she be at zouk tonight? should i go just to see her? what if she gets drunk and something happens to her? nothing wrong here. its a perfectly natural response to a budding relationship. just dont overdo it yeah.

on the other hand... if you LIKE someone, youll know it. because youll have all the answers to all the above questions and, even if some of those answers hurt, you still want to be right next to the person cause theres where everything just feels right. you know that what you have in your heart is solid, unwavering. it wont flit away at the slightest disturbance and from there comes a solid sense of security. this just gives you confidence and boosts your morale because you know your feelings are there to stay and it feels just right, giving you strength to take the next step, however slowly.

right. there we go. a bit heavy but then again this blog isnt exactly full to the brim with light reading.

in conclusion, stay hip and keep funky. later me lovelies.
